Wet Plate Collodi0n Photography: a hands-on introduction
Learn a brief history of the wet plate process, get acquainted through a detailed demonstration, and then make your own 'tintype' photograph. All materials will be supplied.
You'll prepare your own plate, expose it using a supplied large format camera, and then process, with the image appearing instantly. After drying, you'll complete the procedure by varnishing each plate. Class is limited to two people, in order to provide each person with a camera to use for the entire class and individual attention and guidance

What to wear
Comfortable clothes, and enclosed shoes(as we will be working in the darkroom and with chemicals, covered shoes are required). Wear something old( think "painting clothes", or better still and apron, silver nitrate permanently stains)
Safety Glasses and protective gloves will be provided and there use is compulsory.
